Kingsway Imperial Neighbourhood Association is located in beautiful Burnaby, B.C. The KINA Community includes the Royal Oak Community Plan area (generally bounded by but not limited to Portland Street, Bryant Street, Nelson Avenue, and Gilley Avenue) and surrounding neighbourhoods  To see the Finalized Royal Oak Community Plan document click here.

KINA was created in 2005 by a dedicated, hardworking group of residents, students and businesses to work with the City of Burnaby, Burnaby RCMP, School District #41 and representatives from all levels of government. We work together on the community’s behalf “To strengthen our neighbourhood to make it a better place to live, work and attend school.”

In August, 2011 the Kingsway Imperial Neighbourhood Association was incorporated as a non-profit society.

The positive changes accomplished by the Kingsway Imperial Neighbourhood Association have been profiled in Today’s Parent Magazine and recognized through awards such as the Officer in Charge Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Service and Contribution to the City of Burnaby and Burnaby RCMP.

Events coordinated and offered by KINA have included:

  •    Community Clean Ups with displays offering information about local opportunities you can be involved in, entertainment by local students and multi-cultural groups as well as BBQ’s
  •    Information forums for residents and businesses
  •    Community Celebrations to provide opportunities for area residents, students and businesses to celebrate the continuing positive growth in our community
  •    Graffiti Paint Outs
  •    Community Builders Mural Project
